Amazon has signed its latest deal with UK developer Games Workshop. The game company is expected to create the popular fantasy game "Warhammer 40,000". Further details of the deal are not disclosed but the crucial point is that Amazon is using this to try to use the popular streaming trend to its advantage and improve its competitive position against the popular Netflix and HBO Max. The news was also reported by the Financial Times on its Twitter account. The streaming and content production industry became the most popular just through the pandemic period and still enjoys high popularity and huge profits today.

Games Workshop is expected to develop its intellectual property into film and television productions, starting with the world of "Warhammer 40,000" and also provide merchandising rights. Games Workshop's main products are tabletop fantasy and futuristic fighting games, including Warhammer 40,000, which is set in the 41st millennium. Shares in the firm were up almost 14% during Friday's trading.* We could already see a strong rise in the value of the stock during the Covid-19 spread, and at its peak the company was worth £4bn, which is almost 10 times its annual revenue.

Interestingly, actor Henry Cavill could play the lead role in the new project and could also fill the executive producer role. Turning the fantasy worlds of Warhammer into the anticipated computer games, movies and TV series will help the company attract new players who will be key to the franchise's future success.
